Find every subscription in your bank statement
Paste a few months of transactions or upload a CSV. You'll see each recurring charge and what they add up to per month and per year. It runs in your browser: no signup, no bank login, nothing uploaded.
Getting your transactions out of the bank
Most banking websites have an Export or Download transactions option on the account page, usually offering CSV. Pick the last two or three months and upload the file above. On a phone, copying the transaction list from the app and pasting it works just as well. Do each card and account you pay subscriptions from.
Then keep the list without a bank connection
Apps like Rocket Money find subscriptions by linking your bank, and only work with US banks. A statement you paste works anywhere. Carry the list into Subgrove and you get a reminder before each renewal, in any of 38 currencies, on iPhone, Android and desktop. The step-by-step guide to finding subscriptions in a bank statement covers the charges that are easy to miss, and the subscription audit checklist covers what to cancel.
Questions
- Is it safe to paste my bank statement here?
- The statement is read by code running in your own browser; it is never sent to Subgrove or anyone else, and there's no bank login. If you choose to create an account afterwards, the pasted text is kept in your browser's local storage only until the app opens it for import.
- What format does it need?
- Any text where each transaction line has a date, a description and an amount: a CSV export, or rows copied from your banking app or website. Day-first dates (25/07/2026), month-first dates (07/25/2026), ISO dates and written months like 12 Aug 2026 all work.
- How many months should I paste?
- Two or three. A charge counts as recurring when it appears at least twice at a consistent amount, or when it's a known subscription service. Yearly renewals only show up if the statement covers the month they were charged.
- What does it miss?
- Anything billed to a different card or account, charges that change amount every month, and yearly subscriptions outside the date range. Your App Store and Google Play subscription lists are worth checking too.
