What Countries Is Copilot Money Available In?
App Comparisons · The Subgrove Team · · Updated · 4 min read
Short answer: one country. The United States. Copilot Money's own help centre puts it plainly: "At this time, we only support US financial institutions and as such are only available in the US App Store." Its FAQ repeats the point — "Not available outside the US. Copilot Money only supports US-based financial institutions and accounts."
That's the entire list. There's also no Android app anywhere: the FAQ lists iPhone, iPad, Mac and Web as the supported platforms.
Country by Country
🇺🇸 United States — yes. With a US bank or card, on an iPhone, iPad, Mac or the web app.
🇨🇦 Canada — no. No Canadian institutions, no Canadian App Store listing. The details are in does Copilot Money work in Canada, and our Canada guide covers the local picture.
🇬🇧 United Kingdom — no. See the UK guide.
🇦🇺 Australia — no. See does Copilot Money work in Australia and the Australia guide.
🇪🇺 Europe and 🇮🇪 Ireland — no. See the Europe guide and the Ireland guide.
🇮🇳 India — no. See the India guide.
🇦🇪 UAE and 🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia — no. See the UAE guide and the Saudi Arabia guide.
🇸🇬 Singapore — no. See the Singapore guide.
🇳🇿 New Zealand — no. See the New Zealand guide.
🇿🇦 South Africa — no. See the South Africa guide.
Anywhere else: still no. Copilot's site has a "Country Leaderboard" where people vote for where it should launch next; we could not find any statement from the vendor about a date for any country.
Why the Restriction Is Structural
Copilot's whole pitch is that it reads your accounts and categorises everything for you. That depends on a data aggregator plugged into US banking infrastructure, and every feature people praise — the spending breakdowns, the recurring-charge detection — sits downstream of that one connection.
So "available in Canada" isn't a setting. It would mean rebuilding the account-connection layer against Canadian banks, then again for each further country.
Currency is a second limit. The help centre states that "Copilot only supports USD and does not convert foreign currency transactions" — foreign charges appear in USD as the data provider reports them, and you correct them by hand.
The useful lesson: any app whose core feature is "we read your bank feed" inherits the banking system it was built against. Ask which country's rails an app was built on, not whether it's well designed.
The Workarounds People Ask About
A VPN. Doesn't help. The App Store listing and the bank connection both key off your accounts and region, not your IP address.
A US Apple ID. You might get the app installed. You still can't connect a non-US bank, which leaves an empty dashboard.
Android. There's no Copilot app for it in any country (more on Copilot Money and Android). If your household mixes iPhone and Android, that's a hard stop regardless of geography — see our iPhone and Android tracker guide.
What Works Outside the US
There's a category that sidesteps geography: trackers where you enter your subscriptions yourself. No bank connection means no banking rails, which means no country gate.
Subgrove is built this way, and four things follow if you're outside the US:
- No country gate. There's nothing to restrict — you're typing in a list.
- Multi-currency. When some bills arrive in USD and the rest in your own currency, multi-currency tracking keeps each subscription in the currency you pay it in and totals them per currency, so nothing drifts with an exchange rate.
- No bank credentials, anywhere. See tracking without bank linking for why that's a feature rather than a compromise.
- iPhone, Android and desktop. It's a PWA, so it installs to the home screen from the browser on any device, no app store involved, and works offline.
What You Give Up — Honestly
Subgrove is a subscription tracker, not a budgeting app. Copilot's automatic categorisation, spending charts and account-wide view are things a manual tracker doesn't attempt, and if you want a full picture of your finances that's a real difference. Our Copilot Money alternatives comparison covers the full-budgeting options side by side.
You also give up auto-detection. For the five to twelve subscriptions most people carry, that's a few minutes of typing, once — but it is typing.
